Name:det_vladhoffman
Birthdate:Oct 3, 1973
Location:Staten Island, New York, United States
Character Name: Vladimir Bohdan Florescu Hoffman II

Age: 38

Birthday: October 6th, 1973

Political View: Doesn’t really have one, at least an American one.

Appearance:

Height: About 5' 11"

Build: Medium (He looks weaker then he is)

Eyes: Dark brown

Hair: Black

Discerning Marks: Vladimir is small for height; he’s about 5' 11" tall, only about 120 pounds but the strength he kept up from his military background makes up for the lack of body weight. Short curly back hair, dark brown eyes and medium toned tanned skin makes him look Italian although he’s half Romanian and half Welsh.

He as four tattoos, one on each shoulder and on his back, a red dragon on his right (from the Dracul Order), a black horse done in an ancient Sarmatian tribal style on his left, a blue welsh wolf on his back and the Welsh red dragon on his right forearm. Vladimir also has multiple scars from his military service and life in the orphanage, the worst of which runs from the base of his neck all the way down to his lower back.

Sexuality: He is Heterosexual all though he was mentally, sexually and physically abused as a child.

Psychology: He’s a bit of both and introvert and extrovert. Vladimir is reserved, quiet, shy and has a dangerous air about him that comes from his past and his military training but he loves people and has a good sense of humor. He likes to try and become friends with everyone he works with and He rarely loses his temper. When he does… watch out! He earned the nickname Tepes (which means spike in Romanian) in the Serviciul Român de Informaţii (SRI) (Romanian domestic intelligence service) for his talent with sharp objects.

Personality: Vladimir and the family he has living with him speak English and several other languages fluently but sometimes can be hard to understand due to Romanian accents that get thicker when tired. Some of Vladimir’s American coworkers say he’s a bit strange and too quite because he often sneaks up on them or scares the crap out of them when he finally does say something and no one knew he was in the room. He is the caregiver and will often go out of his way for others to help them (Just as long as he doesn't have to break the law).

Vladimir was born with Crohn's colitis, (which is under control with medication) and he also has a fear of rats and prefers not to go into Catholic churches but tries not to let it get in the way of his job.

Father: Nicholai Konstantin Hoffman (Deceased, car accident, at age 25)

Occupation: Lesion officer between the Serviciul Român de Informaţii (SRI) (Romanian domestic intelligence service) and the NYPD, working through the NYPD's Special Victims Unit. He also works as a Physician trained in Emergency medicine, Trauma, Cardiology, Obstetrics and alternative therapies.

Residence: Staten Island, New York

History: Vladimir and his older brother Damek were born in an isolated town accessible only by plane or mountain passes through the town of Sighişoara but were raised in an orphanage located in Sighişoara in Transylvania in the Carpathian Mountains.

Both boys never knew their parents; their father was Romanian and their mother was Welsh (Vladimir and Damek didn’t know about their mother’s heritage until recently). Vladimir was a and Damek was four when their parents were killed in a car accident and they had no family that would take them permanently so Vladimir and Damek were placed in a Catholic orphanage. Since they were not full-blooded Romanian, Vladimir and Damek were considered by many to be less then human. Two paternal uncles would occasionally received permission to take the boys up into the mountains where they chose to retain their family's pagan religion and their simple sometimes nomadic lifestyle.

This created problems between the boys and the orphanage. Vladimir was nearly constantly abused by the adults and children but hid it from Damek so his older brother wouldn't suffer the same.

Damek, however did find out eventually became emancipated at age 18 and moved himself and his brother to the town of Târgovişte in Dâmboviţa County to get Vladimir away from the abuse.

There Vladimir joined the Romanian Army at age fifteen in order to help pay his brother’s medical bills, put himself though school and go to medical school in Bucharest (partly because of his brother’s heart problem).

While in secondary school Vladimir met and became close friends with a young woman named Lada de la Slatina. The two later married and had a pair of fraternal twins, a boy and a girl who they named Konstantin and Danika. Both Vladimir and Lada had just turned seventeen. After the twins were born, Vladimir was transferred back to Sighişoara with his family and started medical training while serving in the Army.

Going into septic shock in late 1991 due to Crohn's colitis while on deployment forced him back down from some of the things he was trained to do for the army and he found he had a knack for crimes that were committed against members of military families and found he enjoyed it, despite the sometimes-grim outcomes.

All thought he is the first to admit that he was forced to do things for the Army, the Serviciul Român de Informaţii (SRI) (Romanian domestic intelligence service) and the government that he didn’t agree with and that still haunts him to this day.

Vladimir and his brother were born, raised and Vladimir started his military carrier under the reign of Nicolae Ceauşescu and some of the things he was forced to do ultimately cost him his health and the life of his wife

After Lada was murdered and he was left for dead by a Romanian/Russian crime syndicate he got too close to in early 1992. The only thing that kept him from killing himself was his twins and Damek.

After the death of his wife of his and Damek’s health started to fail Vladimir put in for any job he could get at the Embassy of Romania in New York when he found a Cardiologist that could treat his brother’s heart problem.

Vladimir, Damek and Vladimir’s twins Konstantin and Danika arrived in New York August 11th, 2001 and were given a temporary apartment a few blocks away from the World Trade Center. On 9/11 Vladimir wasn’t working with the NYPD yet but went down to Ground Zero with both his military ID and medical ID to do what he could to help. During the recovery efforts he also worked search and rescue having had experience doing it in Romania, Kosovo and Chechnya.

He became a Security Officer and went to night school in order to become qualified to work for the New York Police Department as a Lesion officer between the SRI and the department.

He’s also a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and an aid relief worker through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

He received his medical doctrine two years ago after scraping together schooling and residency hours. He is a Romanian citizen working in the US on an extended visa.

Vladimir now lives with his twins, Konstantin and Danika, Damek, Damek’s young son Nicholai, two cousins named Alexi and Luka and Alexi’s daughter Nada in a fairly large house just outside of the city on Staten Island that has about five acres of room for their animals.

Two horses Esca and Hadrian, two breeding Siberian Huskies Milica and Vasska, a red tailed hawk named Radu and a Golden Eagle named Vladimir.

All the animals are trained to work on the farm, help around the house or do some sort of trick.

The boys are also 'Living History' renactors. Teaching others about life in the Ancient Roman Imperial Army.
